Our ambition is to be the leading IT services group in the HE sector and we are growing our team’s capability in experience/UX, agile development, security, cloud, service management and partnering. Within ISD, this post is in Faculty IT & Partnering which provides local specialist applications and systems support and IT strategic business partnering for departments across the university.
About the role
A key technical leadership role which will support the design, development and maintenance of the computing infrastructure that powers both data and computer intensive research.
From high-performance computing clusters and parallel storage to data management and automation tools, you’ll help shape and deliver the digital platforms that underpin world-class research.
About you
You’ll have extensive experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Storage or Research Systems Admin, ideally gained in an academic or research environment. Understand complex hardware platforms, monitoring performance, and ensuring system security and reliability.
You’ll combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to work closely with researchers and technical teams to deliver effective solutions. Experience of hardware management, monitoring or research computing/storage are essential.
Experience in any of these technologies is a requirement; Scale - Lustre - hardware - HPC - Datacentres - Spectrum Protect - GitHub - Operating Systems - Linux - backup - Archive - GPU.
