The Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford invites applications for a Visiting Fellowship during the 2026/27 academic year.
This Fellowship is designed to offer an established scholar or practitioner working in an AI-related field the opportunity to undertake a project focused on the ethics of artificial intelligence. The tenure of the Fellowship is nine weeks within an academic term. Applications are welcomed from candidates worldwide and from all universities, and we particularly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented within their respective disciplines.
In making its selection, the Institute will give preference to candidates who would particularly benefit from the opportunity to spend time in Oxford pursuing their proposed research project and who would find it difficult to do so without the support of a Visiting Fellowship.
Expectations and Engagement
Visiting Fellows are expected to take an active role in the academic life of the Institute and the wider University, for example, through participation in lectures, seminars, and workshops. Fellows are expected to be resident in Oxford for the duration of the term, attend Institute events, present their research, and engage intellectually with colleagues across the University.
Benefits
