The role
We are seeking to recruit an individual to act as a Fieldworker for the PASSPORT project. In PASSPORT we have designed a new physical activity intervention for primary schools which is context-specific and flexible to school need. The Fieldworker will play a key role in data collection for our novel stepped wedge trial and intervention evaluation.
The role can be considered part-time at a minimum of 0.8FTE.
Hybrid working is available - the role requires a lot of travel to schools and to work from the office to prepare data collection materials, however, there is flexibility to work from home around project needs.
What will you be doing?
The main purpose will be to help support the data collection of the PASSPORT trial in primary schools, including recruiting schools and pupils, helping to set up study processes, prepare data collection equipment, collect physical activity, questionnaire and/or biometric data from participants, enter data into study databases, and support qualitative data collection if required. The Fieldworker will also be expected to uphold excellent relationships with key staff and assist in other research-related and administrative tasks. The Fieldworker will work as part of a team of researchers, including the Senior Fieldworker (who will line manage them), the Trial Coordinator, the Intervention Lead, study Statisticians, the Study Manager, and the project’s Principal Investigator (PI: Prof. Russ Jago).
You should apply if
You should have a background in physical activity assessment and/or experience of collecting data in school-based settings.
A degree in a related area and an understanding of research methodologies are essential.
