The Purpose of the Role:
The Departments of Economics and Political Science, within the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Political Economy, to commence on 3rd August 2026.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise and mentor students, and contribute to an engaging, supportive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment. They will play an active role in interdisciplinary curriculum development and engage in high-quality research, publishing in leading academic journals and contributing to wider academic and policy debates through collaboration, workshops, and conferences.
We seek applicants with vision, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. Candidates should demonstrate an established record of high-quality research in political economy, with clear potential for further significant contributions, as well as creativity and innovation in curriculum and module design.
Department/Faculty: School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, Department of Economics and Department of Political Science.

Reports to: Head of Discipline and Head of School.
