Control Room Operator

We are looking for enthusiastic, positive, and reliable individuals to join our Community Safety & Security Services team. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of our campus, providing 24/7 monitoring and response through the university’s Community Safety & Security control room. You will have the ability to remain calm under pressure and have excellent communication skills, to deliver the highest levels of customer service to our diverse range of stakeholders. You’ll bring a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism to the role and will be supported by an experienced and committed team.

You will work 12-hour shifts, with a rotating shift pattern of two day shifts (07.00 – 19.00), followed by two night shifts (19.00 – 07.00), followed by four day’s rest. This will include weekends, university closure days, and bank holidays.

There are 8 full-time, open-ended roles available immediately.

Starting salary: £35,348.88 per annum

Breakdown:
Basic Pay (spine point 13) = £25,249
Shift Allowance (17.5%) = £4,4185
Contracted Additional Hours = £5,771.38
