Our University
Ravensbourne University London is a dynamic institution at the intersection of creativity, business, and technology. Based in London’s Design District in the heart of North Greenwich, we are home to a diverse, global community in one of the world’s most vibrant business and creative hubs.
The Role
Are you a practical, can-do person who is student first?
At Ravensbourne University London, we are looking for a technician to join our team and support activities in our Design Department.
We are focused on preparing students for industry. This means working to high standards with complex evolving technology and staying familiar with the direction of industry. You’ll be working closely with the Head of Department and course leaders to improve activities on the ground further.
In addition to supporting our design courses there will be a need to help with AV setups (PTZ camera setups, audio recording, Black Magic), managing our satellite Photography / Rostrum area,
This role is currently a short-term contract, but if successful in meeting the needs of the department, we plan to consider this becoming a new, advertised permanent role. We can be flexible with the hours, but the job is on campus and not remote.
If you have a passion for guiding students toward success in the ever-evolving world, please consider applying to join our team.
The Candidate
You need to be as happy with a drill as running an Ethernet cable, creating cheat sheets or setting up a camera. We are not looking for a specialist but a generalist who is willing to figure things out and learn.
Problem-solving skills are critical, and keenness to work with others to find conclusions and complete tasks.
Student interaction is a given, so being able to support and advise is essential. If you don’t know the answer, you need to have the confidence to find out.
