This unique structure allows us to combine the stability and ethos of NHS general practice with the academic, collaborative and developmental culture of a leading global university.

We take immense pride in our status as a prestigious teaching and training practice.Teaching is deeply woven into the identity of general practice at Edinburgh—indeed, the University of Edinburgh established the first Chair of General Practice in the world, marking a long tradition of innovation and leadership in the discipline. MMC plays an important role in the University’s community engagement mission and offers exceptional opportunities for GPs to contribute directly to the education of the next generation of doctors.
