Faculty of Education and Human Development
The Department is looking for academic staff who wish to join a group of committed colleagues whose focus is on the academic study of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and development of a Department that plays a central role in the education of teachers; pursues research and development projects that contribute a better understanding of schools and the contexts in which they operate; and works with schools and education policy-makers to improve schooling in Hong Kong and beyond. The Department aspires to be a leading regional centre for the study of curriculum and assessment, digital learning and teaching, AI in education, educational technology, STEAM education - working collaboratively with higher education institutions in Hong Kong, Mainland China and across the region.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in a related area with a successful record of research and teaching, evidence of plans for future development and the capacity to work with schools and education professionals. Applicants with a professional background in computer science and a track record of examining key topics of computer science (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithms and visualisation, learning analytics etc.) in teaching, learning, and assessment through high-quality publications and projects will be given priority. Applicants for Associate Professor should possess evidence of strong research output and publication in relevant field(s) and a strong research track record and impact. Applicants for Assistant Professor should possess evidence of scholarship, research, and publications in the relevant field(s).

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 15% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits, and, where applicable, housing benefits.
