Full-time Faculty Position in Department of Sociology

The Department of Sociology at Koç University invites applications for a full-time faculty position of any rank to begin September 2026. 

The successful candidate will have an active research agenda and a demonstrable record of original research in the field. The candidate is expected to engage in the intellectual life of our department with diverse theoretical and methodological interests, and to teach broadly on the Department’s curriculum as appropriate. 

Junior appointments are at the rank of Assistant Professor and initially for a period of four years with opportunities for renewal and advancement. The teaching load is four courses per year. Candidates must have completed their PhD before the start date. 

Located in Istanbul, Turkey, Koç University is an internationally recognized, English-instruction research university. The Department of Sociology is expanding, with MA and PhD programs. Therefore, the successful candidate is also expected to complement the Department’s existing strengths and actively participate in further curriculum development.
