Department of Economics
Department of Economics is part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, has grown from a four-member Political Economy Group in 1966 to a vibrant team of 58 academics. We are a diverse, research-active community with five specialist research groups and strong global engagement. Regular seminars, workshops, and international conferences foster collaboration and innovation. The Department welcomes several visitors throughout the year, in addition to seminar and conference speakers, for extended stays, creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Role
Besides contributions to the department’s excellent education and impactful research, the role involves providing leadership to one of the department’s research groups. Some colleagues contribute to multiple research groups as well as to various Centres and Institutes within the University, including the Centre for Development Studies, Centre for 21st Century Public Health, Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change, Centre for Climate Adaptation and Environment Research, and the Institute for Policy Research. The position offers access to a wide pool of researchers and engagement with external partnerships, policy bodies, and research organizations, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and impact.
