Thank you for your interest in the position of Bursar’s Office Manager & EA at Pembroke College. This is a rare opportunity to join the Bursar’s Office in one of Cambridge’s oldest, yet exceptionally friendly, Colleges. We are looking for an outstanding candidate who is keen to join the team and support our Academic Mission.
The Bursar’s Office Manager and Executive Assistant is an essential role in enabling the Bursar to lead the management and governance of the College on a day today basis.
You will be responsible for the administrative functions of the Office including diary management, maintaining accurate records and tracking actions from the various Committees and meetings. The role needs to provide a secretariat function to meetings and occasionally these may be outside of normal working hours.
The role will support the College’s governance process, maintaining any changes to our statutes, keeping a register of our policies and a centralised library of our contracts and agreements. It will also be responsible for applying for various licenses from the local authority.
There is an annual requirement to work with the Bursar and the finance team to co-ordinate our annual insurance renewal, which requires liaison with each Department.
As a central role in the heart of the college, it needs to foster collaboration, kindness and be creative in the approach.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing a busy office and be familiar with the requirements of supporting a Senior Executive. You will enjoy the challenge of scheduling a dynamic diary with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally, whilst identifying the priorities for those competing demands. You will be curious to find efficient ways of managing the activities, bringing innovation and creativity to the role.
