About REE
Research and External Engagement (REE) is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the University’s ambitions for, research, innovation, skills and enterprise.
REE’s Research Office provides seamless, end to end support for all external tender, bid and grant applications. The Office is made up of individuals with expertise in costing bids, funders, ethics, contracts and compliance processes (such as Due Diligence).
About the role
This role supports the Research Office by managing research funding processes and providing expert advice. Responsibilities include advising applicants on funder compliance requirements, applicable legislations and legal implications (in line with Trusted Research principles), undertaking and overseeing Due Diligence, Conflicts of Interest and Freedom of Information requests in respect of research applications.
The position focuses on delivering excellent customer service. It will also support and provide advice on the development of new processes for those involved in research.
About you
You will have expert knowledge of legal frameworks as well as research funder requirements and be able to draw upon this knowledge to advise and support to academics, staff, and other stakeholders with contracts and compliance matters. You will help ensure that external grant applications are compliant and in line with trusted research principles.
You will be expected to work to deadlines, solving problems and providing agile project support along the way. With strong organisational skills and attention to detail, you will contribute to university projects, lead short-term initiatives, and provide training and support to the team.

Interviews are scheduled to take place at our Frenchay campus in the week commencing 2nd February 2026
This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week.
This role is campus based for at least 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
