Job Details

Under the guidance of Angela Hayes, we are seeking to recruit a skilled Scientific Officer/Higher Scientific Officer to join the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) team. The post holder will contribute their expertise to advance pre-clinical drug discovery projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, running and reporting in-vitro DMPK assays and performing in-vivo bioanalysis in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines to evaluate the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of potential new anticancer drugs.

The post holder will also interpret analytical data using PK software to calculate pharmacokinetic parameters. Additionally, the candidate will be required to collate, interpret data and report results to both internal project teams and external collaborators. The role involves extensive use of various Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) methodology. This is an opportunity to contribute to life changing drug discovery in a highly collaborative environment.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Pharmacology/Toxicology, Analytical Chemistry or related subject. Laboratory experience, preferably with LC-MS and in a DMPK environment is highly desirable. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic problem solver to work in an interdisciplinary environment towards the goal of developing improved cancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining attention to detail and keeping appropriate records. The ability to work within the guidelines of Data Protection, and Good Clinical Practice is essential.
