Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU), located in Wenzhou, China, one of three Sino-American universities along with NYU Shanghai and Duke Kunshan University, is approved by the Ministry of Education of China. About the Job:

The Department of Special Education at Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member for non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). 

The faculty position is full-time assignment, effective for the start of the 2026 Fall semester (August 16). The position is full-time assignment appointed on a 3-year contract at the first instance and are renewable upon successful reappointment review. 

A Lecturer is a full-time faculty member responsible for teaching 30 credits per academic year  (10-month type) and for providing students with academic and learning support. Lecturers typically teach up to three different courses, with average class sizes of 20–25 students. 

Successful candidates will play a central role in the delivery and advancement of the Master’s programs in Special Education, with a strong focus on Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Faculty members are expected to teach postgraduate-level courses and supervise graduate student practicum experiences. 

The position entails delivering high-quality instruction, offering academic advising and mentorship, and contributing to service at the university, college, and departmental levels—such as curriculum development, program assessment, student recruitment and advisement, and professional collaboration with local and international partners—as well as to the broader professional community. 

Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, and weekend, depending on institutional needs. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All faculty may be required to teach General Education courses as needed. Opportunities are also available to teach interdisciplinary support courses. 

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Teach postgraduate-level courses in Special Education with a focus on ABA and Autism Spectrum Disorders, integrating research-informed and innovative pedagogies.
• Design, update, and deliver course materials that align with program outcomes and accreditation standards.

Graduate Supervision and Advising

• Supervise master’s students in dissertation development, research design, data analysis, and academic writing.
• Provide academic and professional advising to graduate students, including guidance on practicum and internship placements.

Program and Institutional Service

• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
• Support student recruitment, outreach, and partnership development with schools and professional organizations.

Professional Engagement

• Engage in professional development and maintain active membership in relevant scholarly or professional associations.
• Foster collaboration with local and international institutions, including schools and research networks in special and inclusive education. 

Faculty positions at WKU offer:

Annual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience with the range from $65,000-$70,000 for 10-month Lecturers. A well-rounded healthcare coverage, housing options and subsidy up to $3,000, home traveling up to $6,000 (2 international round-trip airfares), a reimbursement to cover relocation expenses up to $1,000 and shuttle bus to campus for work. Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Management, or Special Education with a specialization in Behavior Analysis from an accredited higher education institution.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral (BCBA-D) credential, or BCBA certification with documented evidence of formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Experience using educational technologies, including digital learning platforms (e.g., Canvas); familiarity with AI applications in education is considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise graduate students in applied research and in practicum or fieldwork settings

Preferred Qualifications

• A record of international collaboration or cross-cultural teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education, ethical practice, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions in ABA.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute to departmental growth and support interdisciplinary initiatives.
