If you have a passion for HVAC systems and Building Management Systems, this is your chance to make a real difference and join a group of very capable Facilities Management professionals.
The University is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Engineer to work with our diverse mix of buildings and to oversee our HVAC and BMS strategies whilst supporting our outsourced maintenance activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our 2030 carbon ambitions (see our commitments here) and reducing our energy consumption.
This role will help shape future development and innovation through introducing new technologies and by improving performance of our existing HVAC installations.
About you
The University is seeking applicants with a bias towards BMS and controls; we therefore seek experience in both hardware or software elements. We believe this post will form a key role in reducing the University carbon footprint and improve our energy efficiency, and you should have experience and specialist knowledge in this area.
You will have experience of monitoring systems; fault finding and progressing resolutions (we use external contractors, so experience with managing contractors could be beneficial). Both verbal and written communication skills are important, with the ability to both interpret and explain complex, technical, financial and performance information.
You’ll be required to occasionally attend construction sites, plant areas, or other campuses.
Our team of specialist engineers are responsible for other infrastructure too, and from time to time they may require occasional support within various areas including: Security Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, IT/Telephony Infrastructure.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus, however, there could be activities as part of this role at any of our Campuses.
