You will contribute to an exciting breadth of data-driven biological and clinical research. The post holder will focus on analysis of complex multi-omics and clinical datasets, will develop bespoke computational solutions, and deliver high-quality statistical and bioinformatics support across multiple multidisciplinary projects. Working within a leading institution renowned for its breadth of health and life sciences expertise, you will play a key role in enabling impactful, collaborative research that addresses major scientific and societal challenges.
You will join a supportive and expanding team of computational biologists and software engineers. You will work independently on coding and analysis pipelines, engage with clinicians and experimental scientists to interpret and present findings, and contribute to study design, data integration, visualisation, and publication. The role also offers opportunities to support training activities, develop new teaching materials, and stay at the forefront of computational biology by applying state-of-the-art analytical approaches. The environment is highly collaborative, with strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, professional development, and adherence to best practices.
You should hold a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology or related subject or have equivalent work experience. You should have significant experience in the application of statistics, computational and bioinformatics techniques to answer biological questions. Ideally, you should have experience with a variety of omics data. Excellent communication, team working, presentation skills and FAIR commitment are essential. Curiosity on the application of modern genAI methods is desirable.
The post is available for 2 years in the first instance and is offered on a hybrid basis (minimum requirement of 40% on Campus, with 60% considered desirable where possible). Please also attach to your online application your CV and a short cover letter outlining how you meet the criteria.
