The University of Leeds is one of the UK’s largest higher education institutions, globally renowned for the quality of our teaching and research. We encourage enquiry, discovery and achievement by bringing together academic excellence and an inspirational learning environment. Our ambitions are underpinned by an outstanding community of staff and students, a world-class campus and a strong financial position. The University also plays a key role at the heart of one of the UK’s most economically vibrant and compassionate cities, and takes its economic, social, environmental and cultural responsibilities very seriously.
Our University Strategy 2020–2030, Universal Values, Global Change, sets a blueprint for a values-driven university that harnesses our expertise in research and education to shape a better future for humanity, working through collaboration to tackle inequalities, achieve societal impact and drive change in genuinely distinctive and transformational ways.
We are seeking an exceptional Pro-Vice-Chancellor: Student Education and Experience to lead and shape the University’s student education strategy, ensuring Leeds continues to deliver an outstanding, research-based education and unrivalled experience for our diverse student community. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and President, and as a member of the University Executive Group, you will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of student education and experience, championing innovation in teaching and learning, embedding digital transformation, and maintaining excellence in quality, standards, and student support. Acting as an ambassador for Leeds, you will influence national policy, strengthen global partnerships, and work collaboratively with students, staff and external stakeholders to deliver a world-class, transformative educational experience.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding academic leader with a strong personal track record in teaching and research, significant experience in senior leadership within a large and complex organisation, and a deep understanding of the higher education landscape nationally and internationally. You will bring vision, creativity and resilience, with a passion for enhancing student education and experience, and a commitment to our values of collaboration, compassion, integrity and inclusivity.
Our University wants to make a difference to the world, and this boldness and ambition makes it a dynamic place to work, with a genuine desire to innovate at its heart. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of student education at Leeds and to make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and society.
