Senior Lecturer in Law

We are looking for an experienced Senior Lecturer to contribute to teaching and learning and the development of the LLB law degree programme.

You will design and deliver content across a range of Law modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support and assess learners, contribute to curriculum planning and development and engage in research and scholarly activity. 

About the Role

You will design and deliver high-quality teaching across business-related subjects, assess learners, and contribute to an innovative and inclusive student experience aligned with the School and University’s academic strategy.

The role involves contributing to curriculum development and pedagogical innovation, undertaking research and scholarly activity that informs teaching, and supporting the School’s research and knowledge-exchange ambitions, including seeking external funding and developing new income streams.

You will engage with academic and professional communities, employers, and industry bodies, support recruitment and promotional activities, & contribute to the effective administration and quality assurance of programmes in line with QAA and OfS requirements. You will also share in the wider professional and mentoring responsibilities of the School.

As part of your role you will also provide effective module leadership, contribute to module and programme development, offer high-quality pastoral care, & work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and deliver excellent student outcomes.

Additional Information

Salary Grade Ac3A - Starting from £48,823 rising to £56,536 per annum

The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

• Applicants with two years or less full time equivalent teaching experience in Higher Education who do not hold a Teaching & Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to complete an approved Certificate in Professional Learning in Higher Education course during the first two years of employment.

• Applicants with more than two years full time equivalent teaching experience in Higher Education who do not hold a Teaching & Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to accredit their practice through the HEA fellowship application process during their 6 month probation period.
