Main duties and responsibilities
The Data Analyst will have primary responsibility for data migration activities. The scope will include ensuring that data migration requirements are translated and executed into clear project objectives, ensuring that the scope remains aligned with the programme.
Whilst the Data Analyst will be dedicated to the Phoenix implementation team, it will be necessary and expected that they will also work collaboratively with other colleagues in the corresponding teams to ensure strategic alignment against the University’s enterprise.
The Data Analyst will execute a plan for data migration including design, testing, migration, training and deployment in readiness to go live for all aspects of data underlying the Student Record System. You will be assigned data migration deliverables and report on your workload which will be assessed and managed efficiently to meet deadlines. You will execute plan activities to map, cleanse, extract and/or create/format and sequence the data to be loaded into the solution. You will be extracting data from legacy sources, cleaning, transforming and creating as required, map data structures and populate data migration templates.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial proven experience of data structures and experience in data migrations, preferably along with an understanding of HE student record data and student record systems.
You will have a good understanding of information security principles and best practice and demonstrable knowledge of IT projects. Being self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to work calmly under pressure using own initiative as well as strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent or proven administrative experience. A relevant professional qualification and/or relevant accreditation is desirable.
