Your role
You’ll be joining a university that is consistently highly ranked in the UK for enterprise, commercialisation and knowledge exchange income generated, which has launched 82 spinout and start-up companies since 2000 and which has a very active pipeline of future opportunities. Your work could touch pioneering developments in many different sectors including clean energy and sustainability, marine, bio-engineering, chemicals and materials, electronics and computer science.

Previous commercial experience is essential for this role, along with the ability to evaluate the commercial potential of scientific concepts and a sound knowledge of intellectual property issues in a research environment. Enhancing the University’s commercialisation portfolio through additional licensing activity or helping drive the creation of new University spinout companies is an expectation of this role.
We will help you build further networks with industry partners and investors, along with other key external regional stakeholders.
If you have a relevant postgraduate degree (which could include an MBA and/ or PhD) or a similar professional qualification and industry experience and have a keen interest in University commercialisation activity, we’d love to hear from you.
