Lead the Salesforce vision that will shape the future of our University.

Main duties and responsibilities

As our Salesforce Solutions Architect, you will be the technical authority and strategic leader for the entire Salesforce estate. Working closely with stakeholders across academic schools, student services, marketing, and professional departments, you will translate complex business needs into elegant, scalable and secure platform designs.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert architectural leadership for Salesforce solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with university strategy.
  • Design cohesive end‑to‑end journeys across recruitment, student support, academic engagement, communications, alumni relations and more.
  • Lead integration design between Salesforce and key university enterprise systems, applying best‑practice data architecture and interoperability patterns.
  • Ensure the platform meets information security, data protection, accessibility and regulatory obligations, supporting audits and risk management.
  • Maintain architectural principles, standards, patterns, decision logs and documentation.
  • Guide delivery teams and suppliers, assuring high‑quality configuration, development and solution integrity.
  • Shape platform roadmaps, influence investment, and champion the adoption of new Salesforce features and capabilities.
  • Support safe change, release and environment management practices.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior leaders and governance groups.
  • Line‑manage a team of Application & Development Consultants, Developers and System Administrators—championing talent, wellbeing and professional growth.

Skills and experience required

You will be an experienced Salesforce Architect with the confidence to lead platform strategy in a large, complex organisation—ideally with familiarity of UK Higher Education. You’ll bring a passion for user‑centred design, data integrity, secure architectures, and delivering digital solutions that have genuine impact.

Qualifications required

Holds a minimum of a degree or equivalent, or equivalent relevant experience

Holds qualification in computing at professional level or equivalent experience

Holds current relevant Salesforce certification
