Set within The Bartlett Faculty, The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is comprised of four world-class institutes, providing expert knowledge, collaborative research, and teaching across UCL Energy Institute, UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering, UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage, and UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources.
This is an opportunity to join the UCL Energy Institute, a world-class centre for research and teaching in its area, as a Lecturer (Teaching).
We are seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) (1.0 FTE) to support the MScs in Smart Energy and the Built Environment (SEBE) and Energy Systems and Data Analysis (ESDA). This role provides the opportunity to develop teaching and leadership experience, supported by colleagues on both programmes.
The post holder(s) will lead the Data Analytics in the Smart Built Environment optional module for SEBE and teach on the Energy Data Analytics in the Built Environment compulsory module for ESDA. They will also teach and contribute to other modules in these MScs and the Sustainable Built Environments, Energy and Resources BSc (SBEER) as required, with an equivalent teaching load of 3 modules. This includes preparing the Moodle site, preparing and delivering lectures, setting and marking coursework in addition to supporting students as required.
For SEBE, the post holder will become the Course Director (Programme Lead) to ensure successful administration and to lead delivery of the MSc. This will include recruitment and marketing, the preparation and checking of materials for exam boards, programme development and delivery of the induction week events. They will lead on student experience and student support, including supporting pastoral needs and learning. For both SEBE and ESDA the post holder will undertake dissertation supervision, coursework marking and occasional lectures as required.
This is a permanent role available from 1st August 2026.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a quantitative field relevant to energy demand and the built environment, or equivalent experience and experience of research using statistical methods or of teaching them. They will have experience of teaching in higher education with good communication and organisational skills.
