- THE ROLE -
The postholder will provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of knit construction and production in order to support a range of activities across teaching and research.
The role mainly supports the following programmes: BA Hons Textile Art, Design and Fashion; MSc Fashion and Textile Retail Management; Foundation (year 0); and other courses and activities as required within the Belfast School of Art.
Within the discipline of Knit, the postholder will provide skilled technical assistance, instruction, and guidance, demonstrating equipment and processes as appropriate. The postholder will ensure the effective provision and availability of specialist equipment and work areas in order to facilitate academic delivery, student learning, research, and knowledge exchange activities. Technical Support staff are involved with students in formative assessment and feedback as required.
- ABOUT YOU -
You will have:
- A degree, foundation degree, or NVQ4, or equivalent in an area relevant to Knit and/or Constructed Textiles.
- Experience in the use of industry standard machines, including knowledge of relevant processes, regulations, and quality standards for Knit design and construction.
- Experience and an in-depth knowledge of using a variety of industrial machines in the construction of knitted outcomes.
