Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity to join us in a large team, in a key role where you will be involved in both the delivery and the planning of the library offer and you will help craft our services and provide excellent and continuously developing support to our users. In this varied role you will manage a small team and coordinate the day to day operations of a service area motivating and supporting staff to meet their objectives.
Using your experience of working as the first point of contact in a busy face to face and/or virtual environment, you will coordinate the provision of high-quality information advice services to library customers resolving a broad range of library enquiries both face to face and remotely (via email, chat, phone and text) through participation in service rotas across staffed service hours. You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the library to deliver projects, plan service improvements and promote library services to the wider university community.
Using your excellent IT skills including knowledge of Windows and other Microsoft Office applications, alongside Google apps you will use the library management system and other library systems to assign work across the team, overcoming any technical issues and liaising with other library sites to ensure that staffing resources are deployed effectively and that all rotas are covered.
We are seeking candidates with a minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade C (level 4 to 5) and above including Maths and English, or equivalent. Experience of line management including recruitment, training and performance management is desirable but not essential.
If you are a confident, customer focused individual and would like to join a world class dynamic research library then we would love to hear from you!
