The Role
The School of Arts & Creative Industries is looking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic Lecturer to our Interior Architecture and Design team. The candidate must contribute to high-quality teaching, learning and assessment activity across all levels of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and support the development of new programmes and activities.
As a Lecturer, you must demonstrate specialist expertise in two or more of the following areas:
This role is central to teaching creative industry practices, imparting key design techniques and skills, proactively using both traditional and digital tools, reinforcing foundational drawing skills and exploring the potential offered by creative technologies.
Additionally, you must be confident to contribute to programmes and activities within the wider designated Architecture cluster; and collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects within the scope of the School of Arts and Creative Industries.

Our Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role you will be an effective academic and/or practitioner, keen to continue/build an academic profile in creative arts education and with experience in the field of Interior Architecture and Design. You will be actively engaged in the broad area of interior architecture and design and innovation and must have a proven track record of exploring new and emerging modes of practice and scholarship.
You will be able to demonstrate best practice in teaching, learning, and assessment within Interior Architecture and Design, including the application of active learning pedagogies suitable to the discipline. They will teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4 to 7 within the subject area, delivering a range of student learning sessions and providing support through both formal and informal communication during teaching semesters.
Have a proven track record of delivering a first-class student experience within Higher Education. The candidate will work with other academic colleagues to enhance the student learning experience, ensuring that relevant aspects of research, enterprise, and professional context are embedded into Interior Architecture and Design modules and courses.
The achievement and satisfaction of our students is our top priority; you must be qualified (or be willing to become qualified) to teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate level - those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE or secure a HEA fellowship.
With the commitment and drive to develop further the profile of a distinctive programme for the School of Arts & Creative Industries, you will bring critical thinking and an enthusiasm for imparting research skills, as well as a strong grasp of the external environment and relevant industry.
