Hours of Work: 35 Nominal Weekly hours. We actively encourage agile/flexible working in line with the delivery requirements of each of our roles. As this is a technician role, this role will be based on Campus.

Primary Place of Work: ASU London – Temporary based in Canada Water until July. Then moving permanently to Clerkenwell.

Your role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join the ASU London team in delivering innovative, relevant and hands-on engineering higher education – working closely with supervising technicians and academic colleagues in the maintenance and operation of our Makerspaces. This is an important role in ensuring successful delivery of our undergraduate programmes with the vast majority of our learning achieved through real-life projects, designed and co-delivered with our industry partners. Many of these projects will involve practical, collaborative student group working within our Makerspaces.
The role will mainly deal with our mechatronics makerspace but with daily cover of our practical metal and woodworking shop. From July they will be a combined space will all technicians supporting the larger space collaboratively.
Your varied role will include working with other technicians to advise and assist academic staff and students on available:
You will provide exceptional technical support, instruction and practical advice to facilitate the delivery of projects, and teaching, in the ASU London Makerspaces with assistance from other technicians, advising on use and techniques. You will resolve day-to-day technical issues both informally on a one-to-one basis and as part of group demonstrations and ongoing induction activities, such as:
