About CAU-UOS Joint Institute

The University of Surrey (UOS) is a leading global university in Guildford, UK, renowned for its exceptional teaching, world-class research, and strong industry links. It excels in innovation, particularly in fields like artificial intelligence, space technology, and sustainability. The university currently has over 16,000 students and more than 2,900 faculty and staff members, organized into three faculties: the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

The CAU-UOS Joint Institute is a joint education institute between China Agricultural University (CAU) and University of Surrey (UOS) and will begin enrollment in September, 2026.  It offers three undergraduate programs in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Electronic Engineering, each admitting 100 students annually. The Institute follows a 4+0 dual-degree model, enabling students to earn degrees from both universities while studying entirely in China.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach two to four courses per year in College Physics (Mechanics & Electrical Science, etc) on the east campus of CAU
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Participate in college activities 

Requirement:

  • Ph.D. degree in Physics or a closely related discipline, received from a reputable university
  • Ideally, at least two years of college-level teaching experience
  • Fluent English capacity
  • Open to cultural differences
  • Good communication skills 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • £30,000-£52,000 (before tax) per year commensurate with rank, background and experience, in accordance with teaching hours and working load.
  • Salary will be paid in RMB (Chinese currency) to a local bank account
