You’ll manage high-stakes academic and student administration, maintain the integrity of student records and assessment processes, and provide specialist support to academic governance and assessment boards. This role is suited to an experienced HE professional who brings sound judgement, regulatory awareness, and a strong commitment to quality and student experience.

This is a full-time, permanent role, based in Stevenage with hybrid working.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across the student lifecycle, from enrolment through to graduation, ensuring compliance with UK HE regulatory and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable student records in line with institutional policies, OfS expectations, and consumer protection requirements.
  • Monitor student academic progression and performance, identifying concerns and escalating appropriately.
  • Coordinate the operational delivery of Academic Assessment Boards, including marks collection, reconciliation, data entry, and post-board processes such as resubmission tracking and award confirmation.
  • Process assessments, results, resubmissions, progression decisions, and award outcomes with a high level of accuracy.
  • Support the administration of appeals, academic misconduct, and other student-related investigations, ensuring confidentiality, impartiality, and regulatory compliance.

Systems, Data & Reporting

  • Maintain and update student data across relevant systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Prepare reports and extracts from student systems to support internal decision-making and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure robust digital record-keeping and data integrity, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with academic staff and professional services colleagues to support programme delivery and governance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of academic administration processes, ensuring alignment with UK HE best practice, CMA guidance, and internal quality frameworks.
  • Provide cross-functional support as directed by the line manager.

  • Experience supporting Academic Boards, Assessment Boards, or other governance committees.
  • Familiarity with Moodle or other virtual learning environments.
  • Experience preparing reports and managing sensitive or high-risk data.
