Faculty / Directorate
Based in the £35 million Hugh Aston building, the Faculty of Business and Law is a truly global community of more than 8,000 students from more than 100 nationalities. State-of-the-art study facilities include a finance trading floor, mock and real courtrooms, computer laboratories, dedicated PGR facilities along with study and breakout areas. With a strong emphasis on employability, the business and law programmes offer students an opportunity to undertake a placement, internships and live projects. The faculty also boasts strong links with professional bodies such as AMP, ACCA, CIMA, CIM, ILM and CIPD, offering recognition and significant exemptions from professional courses across a wide range of subject areas. With a vibrant research culture, the faculty is also home to a large Research and Innovation Institute for Responsible Business and Social Justice that with over 200 members and affiliates, works closely with both industry and communities locally and nationally.
Role
The Apprenticeship Skills Coach will utilise a coaching and mentoring approach to support learners with diverse learning needs and varied experiences within a work-based environment, by supporting apprentices to build a strong evidenced based portfolio and further their personal development, to meet the relevant apprenticeship standards, for them to successfully obtain their academic award and to complete the Apprenticeship programme.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in mentoring and coaching apprentices, supported by a coaching or mentoring qualification (or equivalent experience) and holds a postgraduate degree. The ideal applicant will have a strong track record of reviewing and assessing learners work against set criteria and providing clear, constructive feedback. They will also bring solid knowledge of apprenticeship programmes, including an understanding of business management and workplace environments, and demonstrate the ability to deliver a high level of customer service to both learners and employers.
