The School of Architecture, Computing & Engineering delivers a strong portfolio of Engineering programmes spanning Mechanical, Motorsport & Automotive, Chemical, and Aerospace Engineering, as well as specialist areas such as Additive Layer Manufacturing, CNC Machining and Composite Moulding. We are committed to offering high-quality, industry-relevant courses that support the University’s mission as the University of Opportunity. The Department has an excellent academic reputation and works with partners across the UK and internationally.
Research within Engineering is organised across four key pillars: Additive Layer Manufacturing, Composite Engineering, Energy and Green Technologies, and Process Engineering, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration. We are seeking an enthusiastic and a knowledgeable individual to support the growth of Motorsport & Automotive Engineering. Expertise in Vehicle Dynamics, Chassis Design, and Alternative Powertrains is essential. The role includes contributing to research and teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Engineering or a closely related discipline and ideally be members of a relevant professional body. Strong experience across Motorsport & Automotive Engineering is required, along with evidence of research dissemination in high-quality journals and potential to secure research income.
You will work closely with staff and students, contributing to the wider School and Faculty research environment. You will also support delivery across Aerospace Engineering and be expected to demonstrate broad subject knowledge. Appointments will be made at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, depending on experience.
