The role

We are seeking a dynamic Strategic Research Development Manager to join our friendly and ambitious RII team. The post holder will work closely with the University’s academic community and Senior Leadership, across a specific portfolio/funder/theme providing senior level advice, guidance and support for research-related funding, proactively identifying and securing research funding opportunities and new partnerships and managing large, complex grant submission. As part of the role, the post holder will be expected to develop an excellent understanding of a particular funder, thematic area and have the opportunity to drive research and bidding strategies forward.  The post holder will build successful relationships with funders, colleagues at other HEIs that will support the University’s R&I strategy

About you

You are an experienced Research Development Officer/Manager or equivalent with a proven track record in delivering excellent bid and/or research development. You will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire colleagues. You are adept at supporting research opportunities and have a strong understanding of research in the higher education setting.
