Part-time, open-ended (0.6 FTE)
Term-time only
Loughborough University is an amazing place to work. We’re ranked top ten in every national league table and a hold a global reputation for sporting excellence.
With an atmosphere of determination, ambition, and desire to make a difference, our collaborative environment inspires both staff and students to be the very best they can be. With over 3,000 members of staff, you can expect huge variety and new opportunities every day.
Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and highly organised individual with strong experience in garment construction and specialist expertise in pattern cutting to join our technical team.
The technical team plays a vital role in supporting students as they bring their ideas to life, equipping them with the practical skills and processes essential to their creative development. Through hands-on guidance and expert instruction, the team helps students build a deep understanding of technical practices—skills that are not only key to academic success but also highly relevant to future careers in the fashion and textile industries.
Working closely with academic staff, the technical team helps shape and deliver a programme of technical teaching that aligns with learning outcomes across all levels of study and research. This collaborative approach ensures students receive the support they need to develop meaningful, individualised, and industry-relevant work.
