Are you passionate about effective governance and supporting decision-making at the highest levels? Saïd Business School is looking for a proactive Board and Committees Officer to play a key role in driving forward the School’s vision and strategy.
As part of our Governance Office, you’ll be working closely with the Head of the Executive Office and the Governance and Affiliates Officer to ensure transparency and efficiency in all aspects of governance. You will support key committees such as the School Board, Leadership Team, and subcommittees to facilitate well-informed and timely decision-making.
This role is essential for managing the flow of information across the School and with external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and mitigating key business risks. This role is ideal for someone with a strong administrative background who is looking to build expertise in governance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Secretary to the School Board, key Committees, and the Faculty Forum, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality governance support.
- Coordinate with the Head of the Executive Office to produce agendas, papers, and Chair briefings, maintaining quality control for clarity and impact.
- Write minutes, oversee post-meeting actions, and track implementation of decisions.
- Plan and manage the annual cycle of Board and Committee meetings, handling logistics and scheduling.
- Liaise with senior staff, external Board members, and agencies to facilitate contributions and follow-up on decisions.
- Maintain and improve governance systems, ensuring compliance with best practices, regulations, and statutory obligations.
You will have proven ability to build and sustain effective working relationships within complex matrix organisations and with senior stakeholders, demonstrating diplomacy, discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential and sensitive governance matters. You will also be experienced in minuting meetings and have excellent organisational and communication skills. Strong IT proficiency, team-working and problem-solving skills are also essential.
