We are looking for a highly organised and customer‑focused administrator to support our executive education and professional development activity. If you are organised, proactive and ready to contribute to a dynamic team, we would welcome your application.
Main duties and responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work closely with academic and professional colleagues to ensure programmes run smoothly, records are accurate, and learners and clients receive an exceptional experience.
You will handle day‑to‑day enquiries from applicants, learners and external partners, coordinate recruitment processes including interview scheduling, and liaise with central teams to keep data, materials and communications accurate and compliant. You’ll also support events, meetings and departmental activities—preparing documentation, taking minutes, managing shared inboxes, and maintaining effective filing and administrative systems.
A key part of the role is ensuring high standards of customer service across all channels, while developing a solid understanding of University policies, procedures and management information systems. You will help maintain strong communication within the department, contribute to ongoing process improvements, and assist at key University events throughout the year.
This role suits someone proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering excellent service. You’ll work across departments and campuses as needed, supporting the delivery of high‑quality executive education and helping us create a positive experience for all learners and stakeholders.
Skills and experience required
You will have good IT skills including the use of MS Office and databases. You will be numerate and literate, and have the ability to collect, process and present complex data. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, including a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner and have the ability to communicate in a variety of formats to different audiences.
We’re looking for someone with a methodical approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure, deal with conflicting priorities with minimal supervision. You will have the ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality. You will be able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to learn new skills. An understanding of IT systems and experience recording meeting information would also be beneficial.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with A-levels (or equivalents) or proven professional work experience.
Please view the job description and person specification for a full list of the duties and essential criteria. Please attach a personal statement showing clearly how your skills and experience match the Person Specification.
Internal applicants – please ensure you apply via your employee self service portal.
