Job Description

Scholars School System is a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006) having campuses across the United Kingdom which includes Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford and Leicester is looking for a Centre Manager for the Bradford and Leicester campus.

Scholars School System is a national independent higher education provider, offering world class education. Taught programmes, ranging from Foundation Year through to Level 7, delivered in partnership with institutions such as Leeds Trinity University. Over 5000 (UK and EU) learners have successfully completed their learning journey in the last five years with the current student population is over 3000.

Purpose

Scholars School System is seeking to appoint a centre manager who will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities and duties at the centre. You will be required to handle the security, operational and financial matters while overseeing the booking of resources.
 
Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the campus, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of academic, administrative, and support services.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, safeguarding, and risk management regulations, conducting regular checks and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Manage the upkeep, maintenance, and security of the campus building, liaising with external contractors and service providers where required.
  • Supervise administrative and support staff, including setting priorities, monitoring performance, managing rotas, and supporting professional development.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative working environment by leading by example and supporting team cohesion.
  • Monitor and manage the campus budget, authorising expenditure, tracking costs, and ensuring value for money in all operational areas.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with Head Office, academic teams, and external partners to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Represent the campus at internal meetings, senior leadership briefings, and external events or inspections as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic objectives and campus improvement plans.
  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly operational reports, including updates on staffing, student services, attendance, facilities usage, and incidents.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and enhance the student experience.
  • Monitor student engagement and welfare services, ensuring prompt intervention where additional support is needed.
  • Ensure all campus operations are compliant with internal quality assurance processes and relevant external standards, including those from awarding bodies and regulators.
  • Coordinate room bookings, teaching space allocation, and the scheduling of resources to ensure effective delivery of academic programmes.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities that support student recruitment, community engagement, or service enhancement.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Director of Operations or the Senior Leadership Team to support the effective operation and development of the centre.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a centre or campus management role, ideally within a UK Higher Education environment supporting a student population of 500 to 1000+. Experience should include oversight of academic operations, student services, administrative functions, and resource management.
  • Educational Qualifications: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement); a Master’s degree in Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Professional Qualifications: Holding recognised management or leadership qualifications (e.g., ILM, CMI, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
  • Leadership & People Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and manage diverse teams, including academic and administrative staff. Proven ability to delegate effectively, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Operational Oversight: Strong background in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, overseeing timetables, facilities, and campus services.
  • Project & Office Management: Sound project management skills, including planning, monitoring, and delivering campus-wide initiatives on time and within budget. Strong ability to coordinate and prioritise multiple administrative responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including drafting reports, professional correspondence, and delivering presentations to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • IT & Data Literacy: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (ability to create data sheets, dashboards, reports, and analyse datasets). Familiarity with student records systems, CRM tools, and cloud-based file-sharing platforms is essential.
  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Ability to identify business opportunities, contribute to strategic planning, support growth and student recruitment, and meet and exceed performance targets.
  • Time Management & Organisation: Exceptionally organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality outputs under pressure.

Terms of Appointment

  • £45,000 - £50,000 per year
  • Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period
  • 3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
  • Complimentary lunch provided on working days

Job Type

  • Basic hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on site
  • This role may involve travel to other campuses, with all travel costs reimbursed.
