The Senior Asset Manager will play a pivotal role in maximising the performance, safety and long-term value of a large and diverse university estate. Acting as the senior lead in the Asset Management team, the role will support for lifecycle planning, risk-based maintenance prioritisation and investment decision-making across academic and residential buildings. You will provide authoritative professional advice, aid the transition to planned and predictive maintenance, and ensure asset strategies support operational needs, governance requirements and sustainability objectives. The role includes leadership of senior operational managers and oversight of maintenance performance, budgets and asset data quality.
You will bring substantial experience in asset management, estates or building maintenance within a complex organisation, with a proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets and deliver maintenance programmes across varied building types. Strong knowledge of building fabric, statutory compliance, lifecycle planning and the use of CAFM and asset data is essential, alongside the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and challenge priorities constructively. A relevant degree (or equivalent professional experience) and health and safety qualification are required, with professional membership or chartered status and experience in higher education or the public sector desirable. The role will be based at Bedford House on the Main Liverpool Campus and will work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
