The Institute Administrator is responsible for the administrative support to our busy Anatomy section which supports the teaching, learning and assessment of medical, dental and science undergraduates as well as that for other postgraduate programmes such as Physician Associates or short courses for doctors in training.
The post is also responsible for the Universities bequeathal programme. This is the legally regulated process by which individuals choose to donate their bodies, after death, to the University for the education of medical and associated healthcare programmes at the University. This involves all administrative aspects of the process from speaking with relatives and individuals who enquire about bequethal to completion of appropriate paperwork and through ultimately to acceptance into Anatomy. You need to be able to understand and communicate detailed, sensitive procedures and ensure that the formal and legal requirements of the Anatomy Act are followed and that appropriate records are kept securely and confidentially.
The role also incorporates Personal Assistant to the Professor of Anatomy. We are looking for an experienced administrator who is able to deal professionally and sensitively with a variety of essential and sensitive matters on a day-to-day basis. This is a challenging but rewarding position, and a key role within Anatomy. IT skills to develop our social media and web-based output are desirable.
Salary will be on the Grade 5 scale, from £33,002 - £36,636 per annum.
