About the role:
Do you have a passion for leading laboratory-based teaching and for shaping high-quality undergraduate curricula in biomedical science?
The Faculty of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Senior Teaching Fellow to join a team of passionate educators teaching on our BSc Medical Biosciences programme (BMB), and to lead on the development and future delivery of a new MSci in Medical Science & Innovation. You will work collaboratively with academic, technical and professional services staff to help design and deliver high-quality learning opportunities for students.
What you would be doing:
You will work alongside an enthusiastic and high-performing teaching team to lead and deliver teaching on the BSc Medical Biosciences programme. A key element of the role will involve leading teaching within the Lab Pod modules, which take place in state-of-the-art teaching laboratories where students explore research hypotheses.
You will take responsibility for designing, organising and leading laboratory sessions, including testing and troubleshooting protocols. In addition to teaching in Lab Pods, you will lead or co-lead teaching and assessment in one or more of the programme’s theoretical modules.
You will also lead effective contributions to the design, delivery and evaluation of a new undergraduate science and innovation programme, taking responsibility for curriculum innovation and pedagogical strategy, developing teaching sessions and programme resources and supporting teaching and learning opportunities, including course evaluations.
