The Enterprise Data Architect (EDA) is a strategic and pioneering role within the Information Digital Group (IDG), responsible for establishing, defining, and proactively maturing the University of Warwick's Data Architecture practice.
 
The core purpose is to be the visionary who transforms and governs the institutional data landscape. You will ensure our data is a unified, secure, and highly efficient ecosystem, directly enabling strategic alignment with business goals and driving informed decision-making across the entire University

To achieve this core purpose of establishing and maturing the data architecture, the Enterprise Data Architect will focus on delivering the following practical and foundational outcomes:

  • Define the Roadmap: Create and own the Enterprise Data Architecture Strategy and Roadmap, establishing the core principles, standards, and data models that guide the evolution of all data systems and management capabilities across the organization.
  • Enforce Consistency: Design, document, and socialise crucial enterprise data models (Conceptual, Logical, etc.) to ensure data coherence, consistency, and effective support for all complex integration layers.
  • Govern and Mitigate Risk: Serve as the senior architectural authority to enforce data architecture governance structures and compliance activities. Proactively balance and articulate data-related risks at the enterprise level, safeguarding data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive Solution Quality: Provide expert guidance and thought leadership to project teams, actively working to ensure new digital solutions adhere to established data standards and are strategically aligned with the target enterprise data architecture.
