About the job:

We are excited to announce that the School of Arts, English and Languages seeks to appoint two Lecturers in Music (1 Lecturer and 1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer), with significant experience in composition, music technology and/or popular music practice. We are looking for individuals who can bring fresh perspectives to our vibrant, interdisciplinary environment. If you are passionate about sound, music, and innovative teaching and research, we would love to hear from you. You will be joining SARC: Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Sound and Music, a hub with over 60 scholars from researchers from across the university, all united by a passion for sound and music research.

About the person:

Essential Criteria:

  • Have or about to obtain a PhD in Music or related field.
  • A record of internationally excellent practice research outputs and/or research publications in established and/or emerging areas of Music, appropriate to career stage.
  • Relevant teaching experience to at least degree level in one or more of the following key areas:
    • Composition (including instrumental and electronic)
    • Audio Production (including live and studio sound engineering)
    • Popular Music Performance (including live and studio-based work)

Desirable criteria include evidence of ability to teach one or more of the following: composition for screen, creative coding for musical applications, harmony and music theory, Irish traditional music, songwriting.
