Do you want to establish or further develop your career as a computer scientist in an international, research-centred technical university? Do you want to contribute to the education of new generations of computer scientists and engineers? 

You may find your place as an associate professor or tenure-track assistant professor in the Software Systems Engineering Section at DTU Compute. 

We advance and apply research techniques from the following areas: 

  • Formal methods (e.g. programming languages, formal modelling, formal verification)
  • Process science (e.g. process mining, BPM) 

and our research addresses challenges related to: 

  • Software systems, distributed systems, information systems and cyber-physical systems
  • Application-specific domains (e.g. cybersecurity, healthcare, law)
  • Reliability, safety, security and understandability 

While we have clear focus areas, we are open and curious about exploring the full potential of the research techniques listed above, and complementary ones, across the challenges listed above and additional ones

We invite candidates who wish to grow scientifically while contributing to and shaping our research directions. We value collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and diverse scientific perspectives, and we offer a supportive research environment.

Responsibilities 

  • You will be conducting scientific research at the international level, publishing your results in highly reputed conferences and journals.
  • You will be seeking opportunities to lead and participate in collaborative, funded research projects with academia and/or industry.
  • You will take part in the development of our research-based teaching portfolio at the bachelor, master, and PhD levels.
  • You will contribute to the culture of collaboration at the department, and you will participate actively in joint activities aimed at developing the department and the section. 

Qualifications 

  • You are an active researcher, witnessed by a publication record at the international level.
  • You are recognized by the international research community as an expert in your field, witnessed e.g. by impactful publications, participation to conference committees, invited talks and awards.
  • You are genuinely curious about other people's research activities, and you like to explore research collaborations with colleagues inside and outside your network. 

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both. 

As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the associate professor position you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
