About School of Mathematical Sciences
We offer undergraduate courses in BSc (Hons) Mathematics with Applied Mathematics (2+2, 4+0) and BSc (Hons) Statistics (2+2) and have active and cutting-edge research in mathematics and its applications in computational mathematics and simulations, applied mathematics modelling, nonlinear science, wave propagations in lattices, fluid mechanics and financial mathematics.
About You
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, to play a lead role in collaborative research projects and conduct ongoing original research and publications in Mathematical Sciences.
Candidates must have a PhD degree and preferably postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics or Statistics, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Experience of supervising PhD and Master students, and successful acquisition of external research funding is desirable (essential for Associate Professor position).
Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support
Successful candidate will be offered a five-year contract that may be extended by mutual agreement. Salary will be within the range of 635,038 RMB to 780,622 RMB for Associate Professor / 450,190 RMB to 592,815 RMB for Assistant Professor per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, you will have a range of benefits and entitlements, including accommodation allowance, insurances, schooling support, home flight, relocation repatriation support, and paid annual leave. You will be offered a wider range of Chinese talent schemes application opportunities based on the eligibility of application. If you have reached the statuary retirement age stated in Chinese Regulation, a service agreement will be offered instead.
The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 5 years starting September 2026. This contract may be extended by mutual agreement.
