We are seeking an ambitious, forward‑thinking academic leader to join our University’s Executive Team as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching). This is a pivotal role providing strategic leadership for learning, teaching and academic quality.
You will lead the development, implementation and periodic review of the University’s Future Facing Learning, supporting the Learning, and Teaching Framework to ensure a high-quality, future focused student experience and lead improvement in key indicators, including continuation, attainment, progression and graduate outcomes. You will provide strategic leadership for the Teaching Excellent Framework (TEF) and for digital education, including the effective use of learning technologies, blended learning and digitally enhanced pedagogies and support the strategic development of international taught provision and transnational education (TNE) working with Schools and external partners.
With a Doctoral degree (PhD/EdD) or equivalent senior academic standing, you will be able to evidence ongoing professional development relevant to learning, teaching, academic leadership or digital education and be able to demonstrate being a strategic, future-focused thinker able to lead learning and teaching in a changing global HE environment. You must have strong understanding of UK academic standards, quality frameworks, external examining and regulatory requirements (including OfS expectations) and an understanding of digital and AI-enhanced education, learning technologies and learning analytics.
