Are you ready to join our expanding Strategic Projects team at Birkbeck, University of London?

We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientated Project Manager for our growing portfolio of internal change projects and new external academic collaborative partnership projects.

As a Project Manager at Birkbeck, you will provide direct formal project management for a range of strategic projects across the University. Working with both academic and professional services colleagues, you will support project sponsors in delivering agreed outputs, using project management structures and processes.

The role of Project Manager is offered on a permanent, full-time contract (35 hours a week) with a flexible and hybrid working pattern, although one or two days a week in the office is expected, and a salary of £44,247 rising to £50,379 per year.

There are a number of potential new academic collaborative partnerships in development, so applicants with particular experience of project management in this area would be desirable.

Whilst working within established governance frameworks, you will need to work autonomously and be able to demonstrate a strong ability to coordinate, manage and integrate a varied portfolio of projects to meet wider university objectives, controlling significant resources, managing risk and securing project delivery to time, budget and quality.

Effective communication is a key aspect of this role and you should be able to quickly develop strong and effective working relationships with senior managers, colleagues in academic schools and professional services, and external stakeholders to ensure that projects run successfully, aims, objectives and outcomes are clearly communicated, risks and issues are transparently discussed and resolutions agreed.

Salary and benefits: 

£44,247 rising to £50,379 per year, Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.

Contract:

Full time, permanent contract (35 hours a week), flexible and hybrid working pattern offered although one or two days a week in the office is expected, as is in-person meetings and training events as and when required.
