About the role
The ESRC Centre for Digital Futures at Work Research (Digit) studies the way that digital technologies are reshaping work. Our cutting-edge academic research offers critical insights to inform policymakers, business trade unions and civil society.
As our Research Communications and Events Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the Centre’s impact-driven communications and engagement activities over the next four years. This will include creating engaging content for our website and social media channels, organising a range of internal and external events, and supporting the production of reports and briefings. Your work will help to build our reputation and support academic research to have real-world impact on issues such as the use of AI at work, flexible working, and digital skills.
The successful candidate will be part of the Professional Services team, based at the University of Sussex Business School. As Digit is a cross-institution collaboration, jointly led by the Universities of Sussex and Leeds, you will also work closely with researchers based at our partner Universities and with our non-academic partners FutureDotNow and the Institute for the Future of Work.
About you
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience of developing a range of content for website and social media, including translating complex, technical information, for non-specialist audiences. You will be also have experience of event organisation and an ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a calm and professional manner. You will be flexible, able to manage your own workload while supporting others, and be an enthusiastic team player.
