Position Title: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering
Location: Brunel University of London, Uxbridge Campus based with participation in Brunel’s Transnational Education provision at the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), China
Salary: Lecturer: Grade 8 from £45,390 to 58,263 inclusive of London weighting with potential to progress to £ 65,236 per annum, inclusive of London weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution.
Senior Lecturer: Grade 10 from £ 63,415 to 69,045 inclusive of London weighting with potential to progress to £ 73,087 per annum, inclusive of London weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week.

The Department of Engineering is newly formed and integrates expertise across electronic, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, civil and chemical engineering disciplines. The Department has an ambitious strategic direction focused on research excellence and REF performance, doctoral training, industry-relevant teaching, and the development of international partnerships and transnational education. The successful candidate will be expected to align their research with the Department’s priority themes and contribute to relevant research centres/groups, strengthening research outputs and external funding performance.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering to contribute to the Department of Engineering’s academic activities, including Brunel’s Transnational Education provision delivered in partnership with Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), China. The role includes teaching on a dual bachelor’s programme in Electronic and Communications Engineering and working closely with academic colleagues both within the Department and at CQUPT to deliver a high-quality student experience. The post holder will be expected to manage student expectations through effective engagement and to contribute to excellent levels of student satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to China multiple times per year and may spend up to three consecutive months at CQUPT to participate in the delivery of analogue and digital electronic subjects. Expertise in autonomous and robotic systems is desirable. The appointee will be research active and expected to develop a strong, externally funded research portfolio, publish in high-quality internationally recognised journals, contribute to REF-returnable outputs and research impact, supervise PhD students, and engage actively with relevant research centres and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Candidates are expected to hold a First or Upper Second-Class Honours BEng degree and a PhD in a relevant discipline (for Senior Lecturer candidates) or be near completion (for Lecturer candidates) or possess equivalent industrial experience.
