Fuyao University of Science and Technology (FYUST) is a new private research university located in Fuzhou, China. It was established with the generous donation of a globally renowned entrepreneur Mr. CAO Tak Wong, officially approved by the Ministry of Education in February 2025.

About School

School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) focuses on foundational and interdisciplinary research in computing and AI to drive technological breakthroughs and societal impact. We are dedicated to advancing foundational and interdisciplinary research in computing and AI. Our mission is to foster innovation in core areas such as Foundational Software and Systems, Internet of Things and Industrial Internet, Cloud Computing and Big Data, Cyberspace Security, and Artificial Super Intelligence. We aim to cultivate future leaders who will drive technological breakthroughs and societal progress.

Responsibilities

1. For Assistant Professor

1.1 Research

  • Establish and develop an independent, internationally visible research program in one or more of the following areas: Foundational Software and Systems, Internet of Things and Industrial Internet, Cloud Computing and Big Data, Cyberspace Security, and Artificial Super Intelligence.
  • Publish high-quality research outcomes in top-tier conferences and journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, KDD, SOSP, OSDI, NSDI, INFOCOM, SIGMOD, VLDB, S&P, CCS, TPMAI, TKDE, etc.).
  • Pursue external research funding and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within and beyond the university.

1.2 Teaching and Mentoring

  • Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and artificial intelligence, with the ability to develop new curricula aligned with emerging trends.
  • Supervise student projects, theses, and research assistants.

1.3 Service

  • Participate in academic service activities, including conference program committees and journal reviewing.
  • Contribute to the intellectual life and governance of the School through committee work and engagement in seminars and events.

2. For Associate/Full Professor

2.1 Research Leadership

  • Lead a world-class research group in one or more strategic areas: Foundational Software and Systems, Internet of Things and Industrial Internet, Cloud Computing and Big Data, Cyberspace Security, and Artificial Super Intelligence.
  • Produce transformative research with high impact, demonstrated by publications in top venues, invited talks, and recognitions such as best paper awards or fellowships.
  • Serve as principal investigator for major research grants (e.g., national key R&D programs, NSF-equivalent funding, industry-funded projects).

2.2 Teaching and Mentoring

  • Provide visionary leadership in curriculum development and pedagogical innovation at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Mentor junior faculty and early-career researchers, contributing to the growth of a vibrant academic community.

2.3 Academic Leadership and Service

  • Take on leadership roles in the School (e.g., leading research centers, spearheading accreditation efforts) and the broader academic community (e.g., conference chairs, editorial board memberships).
  • Represent the School nationally and internationally to enhance its visibility and reputation.

Requirement

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Strong research achievements and potential for independent leadership.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring; ability to teach in English.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual Package: Assistant Professor: £43k - £87k; Associate Professor: £65k - £109k; Professor: £76k - £130k; Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
