Edinburgh Napier University is a leading modern university in Scotland, ranked #1 for overall student satisfaction in Edinburgh for six consecutive years (NSS 2020-2025) and at it’s heart, sits our university School Support Service.
Our purpose is to operate as a cohesive team that is focused on delivering excellent, consistent, effective and resilient support services that are transparent, responsive and accountable to the academic communities we serve.
Currently, we have a number of opportunities for a School Support Administrator to join our team and work closely with relevant staff (academic and non-academic) to ensure School activities and priorities are supported coherently and to the highest standards, in line with our University Strategy.
The Role:
As a School Support Administrator (SSA) you will be in an excellent position to use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide a first line of contact both internally and externally for your assigned School.
Your tactful and courteous manner, sound knowledge of University processes and ability to multi-task, will serve you well as you provide professional proactive support and advice to students and academics, dealing with a wide range of enquiries and ensuring School academic priorities are maintained.
On this team, we pride ourselves as being organised, proactive and invested in all of the activities we are involved in. This allows us to provide comprehensive support to our academic colleagues for activities such as academic quality and external accreditation, business development, financial budgeting and control, database administration (including academic & student records) and executive/leadership support.
We anticipate that you will also have good numeracy skills (so that you can support financial activities such as processing purchase orders and monitoring budget spend) as well as a flexible and systematic approach, so that you can support the school in the achievement of key performance indicators, and help with the enhancement and development of processes.
If you have experience in these areas demonstrable from previous administrative posts, then this is a versatile and interesting role that will capitalise on all of your existing skills.
No two days are the same, and the positive difference you will make to all of your stakeholders and the University as a whole, is highly rewarding.
We have positions available for different teams, so please review the additional information document and let us know which team you would prefer to be considered for in your application supporting statement.
