About the Role
Reporting to the Research Finance Manager, this is a key role within central finance and works closely with academic departments to oversee the financial management of the University’s research portfolio. Specifically, the post holder will look after its own portfolio of departmental research projects and will be the prime Research Accounts contact person for those departments.
In addition, be responsible for high profile research project reporting and developing systems and process to bring on improvements to the timing, quality and reliability of research financial information bringing visible benefits to the wider university research community.

This role Includes a requirement to be in the office for at least 1 day per week. The role is full time but a flexible working pattern may be available.
About You
You will have experience of working in a complex financial administration function in a customer focused environment. Alongside this, you should have good accounting experience including proven skills in complex reconciliation.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a wide caseload of projects and adhere to deadlines are also required.
Desirably, you will have previous experience of a financial management system such as Oracle Financials. Previous experience of research award management would also be highly beneficial.
