The role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to a permanent full-time post from 1st September 2026 to join a thriving and dynamic law programme, based at our Penryn campus in Cornwall.
Our offering to students in Cornwall is unique; our law degrees form part of a portfolio of programmes run in collaboration with our Business School, such as LLB Law with Business and BBL Bachelor of Business with Laws. We have plans to expand delivery to new inter-disciplinary programmes. Our pedagogical approach is different from many traditional law schools, with a much stronger focus on experiential learning. This includes significant amounts of small group task-based working and research projects as part of the curriculum.
We are seeking applications from candidates with an academic or professional background to teach on the Law programmes. The focus of the role is to teach on foundational law modules (Criminal Law, Public Law, Human Rights, European Union Law, Land Law, Law of Trusts, Contract Law, Law of Torts and Legal Foundations) with the ability to teach on corporate law or environmental law modules being a benefit. An interest in developing pedagogies in legal education will be an asset. Please identify your areas of relevant teaching expertise in your application.
The post will include working as part of a growing team to design and deliver excellent teaching. The position would suit an outstanding teacher who has a passion for education and learning, and for students at or near to the completion of their PhD.
